The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has reportedly refused the renewal of Consent to Operate (CTO) for the existing smelter plant at Thoothukudi.
The company has reportedly written a letter to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday, in which the company itself confirmed the latest move by TNPCB.
Bhumika Sood, the Secretary and Compliance Officer of Vedanta Limited, told to New Indian Express, "The company had applied for renewal of CTO for its existing smelter plant at Thoothukudi. The application has been rejected for want of more clarifications. The company is evaluating the further course of action”.
