Chennai witnesses hottest day of the year

According to a Facebook post by the weather blogger, Tamil Nadu Weatherman, Tuesday is Chennai's hottest day of the year. Reportedly, the temperature in the city crossed 39 degree Celsius.

He has announced that the temperature in Chennai will be high for the next three to four days. Even though the temperature has still not yet gone above 40 degree Celsius, there is a high possibility for it in the next few days. The interiors of Chennai city and the Chennai Airport will likely be warmer than the rest of the city.

The weatherman clarified that the sudden increase in temperature is due to the hot and dry northwesterly winds. He also announced the possibility for rain in the city after the three to four days of heat.
