Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami confirmed on Monday at the State Assembly that the construction of a green line connecting Chennai and Salem will take place. Answering DMK member J Periyaswamy's question, he assured that the eight-lane highway will be built.
The CM informed that there were problems in constructing the green-line, but for the welfare of the people, it will be built. He also notified that getting permission from the Centre was difficult.
CM Palaniswami reportedly said that if the road is built, travel time from Chennai to Salem will be over in just two and a half hours. He also requested the common people and farmers to support the construction.
