Sterlite: TN govt to approach SC against reopening
Home > Tamil Nadu newsThe Tamil Nadu government is keen on approaching the Supreme Court after the National Green Tribunal gave the nod ahead for Vedanta-owned Sterlite Industries to reopen, strictly related to administrative work on August 9.
The decision to approach the top court was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan and top officials from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board.
As per reports, the government as of now, has decided to wait for the next hearing of the case on August 20 and then accordingly take the matter to the Supreme Court.
