TN Policewoman Absconds with 60 Sovereign of Gold recovered from Criminals

Swapna Suja (40) was working as a police second grade constable. She was assigned to look after theft related cases, and following them up at courts. Although she had regularly paid attention to theft crimes, she failed to produce the stolen gold ornaments to court.
After the matter came to light, police Commissioner Ganesh Sumithsaran, had decided to fire her. After learning this, Swapna Suja applied for a long leave and absconded the scene. Further, she also wrote to the high court, asking to not fire her from her job. After the hearing the court ordered Swapna Suja to surrender to the police and solve the issues.
However, she did not surrender. Hence Commissioner Sumithsaran had ordered the police force to take severe action against her. They filed a case on her and started the search operation.
She was arrested recently, and produced to court. The stolen gold worth many lakh were produced to court as well.
