While the entire world was hoping to see the boy alive, his death alarmed the humanitarians. Meanwhile, a lot of criticisms poured against the government for not being able to save the boy's life. The opposition party leader M K Stalin expressed his disappointment and criticized the EPS headed AIADMK government.
However, the representatives of the ruling party argued saying they made all the necessary efforts but did not expect the unfortunate event to happen. Amidst the accusations such as 'inability to take a quick decision', 'dealy in calling 'NDRF' (National Disaster Response Force), the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi K Palaniswamy opened up on the issue.
As per Puthiyathalaimurai report, EPS said, "The government made all the efforts to save the child Sujith. 4 ministers stayed in Manapparai and worked for the rescue operation. It's very sad to see M K Stalin spreading hate speech on the issue only with an intention to accuse the government".
