TN Corona Update: New Cases, Recoveries and Deaths - May 28

Tamil Nadu on Thursday, 28 May, reported 827 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases in the state 19,372.

Of the 827 new cases, 117 are people returned from other States (Delhi - 1, Karnataka - 21, Haryana - 2, Maharashtra - 74, Kerala - 1, Telangana - 1, AP - 2, Bihar - 2, Jharkhand - 1, Odisha - 2, Rajasthan - 1, Gujarat - 1, Punjab – 8)

Twelve persons succumbed to the virus on the date taking the death toll of the state to 145.

Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive today – 494/333/0

Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive till date – 12,219/7148/5

Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities – 70 (42 government and 28 private)

Total number of samples tested till date – 4,55,216

Total number of samples tested today – 12,246

Total number of persons tested till date – 4,34,625

Total number of persons tested today – 11,607

Total number of suspected individuals in isolation ward admission – 5881

Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 10,548

Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 639
