Tamil Nadu on Sunday, August 2, reported 5875 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in the state to 56,998

- Total number of active cases on date (including isolation) - 56,998

- Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive till date – 1,56,140/1,01,446/ 27

- Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities –122 (59 govt. And 63 Private)

- Total number of samples tested till date – 27,79,062

- Total number of samples tested today – 60,344

- Total number of persons tested till date – 26,77,017

- Total number of persons tested today – 58,505

- Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 1,96,483

- Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 5,517

- Total number of deaths today / till date – 98 (23 Private and 75 Govt) / total 4,132
