According to reports, CM Edappadi Palaniswami on Wednesday announced at the Tamil Nadu Assembly that Rs 7 lakh will be offered as a financial aid to NEET aspirant Pradeepa's family. Pradeepa committed suicide by consuming rat poison on Monday night after NEET results were announced.
This year was Pradeepa's second attempt at clearing the exams. However, despite Pradeepa's high scores in class 10 and 12, she was not able to crack NEET. According to reports, only less than 40 per cent in Tamil Nadu cleared the exam.
CM Palaniswami offered his deepest condolences to Pradeepa's family and offered a government job to one of her family members. He also requested students to not attempt suicide.
