According to reports, a vacation bench of the Madras High Court has ordered re-postmortem on the seven bodies of people who died on May 22 and 23 during the anti-Sterlite protest at Thoothukudi.
The bench reportedly urged the government to form a team of three doctors, one of whom should be from the forensic department not below the rank of Reader.
The court also ordered that the doctor should be from any one of the institutions– All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) (any branch)/ JIPMER, Puducherry/ Government Medical College, Trivandrum, Kerala) – subject to their availability.
