Security highly beefed up in Chennai

Following the massive outrage in Thoothukudi over the shooting by police, security has been tightened in Chennai’s important areas like Marina beach, Kamarajar Salai, Anna Salai.

During the 100th day of protest against the Sterlite factory, as many as 11 protesters were shot dead on Tuesday. Two more people passed away after police opened fire on Wednesday too, taking the total death toll to 13.
