DMK working president MK Stalin on Friday took part in a wedding ceremony near Maduranthakam in Kanchipuram district. Speaking at the ceremony, the opposition leader slammed the Tamil Nadu government and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami over the police firing in Thoothukudi.
Stating that DMK cadres were never afraid of going to prison, Stalin warned that the nation will see where the rulers (in reference to the AIADMK government) will be placed soon. He also said that the Chief Minister didn’t even know that the section 144 order couldn’t control him. Earlier, when asked why he didn’t visit the riot-hit Thoothukudi, CM Palaniswami had stated that he didn’t visit the town due to the prohibitory section 144 order clamped there.
Later, DMK cadres, led by Stalin, staged a roadblock after the marriage. The newly-wed couple also took part in the roadblock. Later, police arrested Stalin and party cadres following the agitation.
