Actor Vijay visited the families of those who were killed in police firing in Thoothukudi during the midnight on Tuesday. Vijay consoled the families, including those of Snowlin and Jancy, who were killed. The actor also offered them an ex-gratia amount of Rs 1 lakh each.
Vijay visited the families in a two-wheeler in the midnight so that fans won’t gather in large numbers. Reports suggest that the actor may visit the injured in hospital on Wednesday.
At least 13 persons were killed after police opened fire at the anti-Sterlite protesters. Dozens were injured in the incident. The incident caused widespread outrage in the state leading to the state government’s order to close the Sterlite copper plant.
