Will Tasmac Shops be Open during Lockdown in Chennai and Neighbouring Districts? - Check Here

The lockdown in Chennai and three neighbouring districts is to commence from June 19. Considering this, Tasmac liquor outlets are expected to be shut until June 30.

The TOI reported that their official sources have ensured that the closure would be based on the orders of the government with regards to the lockdown in Chennai, Chengalpet, Tiruvallur, and Kancheepuram districts.

A copy of the official order is awaited.

At present, those stores which fall under the greater Chennai Police jurisdiction are closed. From a total of 900 liquor outlets from the aforementioned four districts, only 200 have been operational. TOI’s source has said, “We expect at least 100 among them to be shut and those located far away from Chennai such as Tiruttani and Pallipet taluks of Tiruvallur district to remain open.”
