Tamil Nadu on Saturday, August 1st, reported 5879 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in the state to 56,738

- Total number of active cases on date (including isolation) - 56,738

- Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive till date – 1,52,651/ 99,060/ 27

- Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities –121 (59 govt. And 62 Private)

- Total number of samples tested till date – 27,18,718

- Total number of samples tested today – 60,580

- Total number of persons tested till date – 26,18,512

- Total number of persons tested today – 58,243

- Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 1,90,966

- Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 7,010

- Total number of deaths today / till date – 99 (22 Private and 77 Govt) / total 4,034
