COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu Today: Check Positive Cases, Deaths And Recoveries As On August 8  

Tamil Nadu on Saturday, August 8, reported 5,883 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in the state to 2,90,907.  

The following is the COVID-19 statistics of Tamil Nadu as of August 8:

- Total number of active cases on date (including isolation) -  53,481.  

- Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive till date –   1,75,744 / 1,15,136 / 27.     

- Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities –129 (61 Govt + 68 Private) 

- Total number of samples tested till date –   31,55,619         

- Total number of samples tested today –  67,553    

- Total number of persons tested till date –  30,41,529   

- Total number of persons tested today –  65,872 

- Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 2,32,618 

- Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 5,043 

- Total number of deaths today / till date - 118 (37 Private & 81 Govt) / total 4,808
