COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu Today: Check Positive Cases, Deaths And Recoveries As On August 20   

Tamil Nadu on Thursday, August 20, reported 5,986 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in the state to 3,61,435.  

The following is the COVID-19 statistics of Tamil Nadu as of August 20:

- Total number of active cases on date (including isolation) -   53,283.  

- Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive till date –  2,18,123  /1,43,283 / 29.  

- Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities –139 (63 Govt + 76 Private) 

- Total Number of samples tested by RT-PCR till date  –     39,88,599.  

- Total number of samples tested today –   75,076.     

- Total number of persons tested by RT-PCR till date – 38,51,411.  

- Total number of persons tested today –  73,162.   

- Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 3,01,913.  

- Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 5,742.  

- Total number of deaths today / till date - 116 (44 Private & 72 Govt) / total 6,239
