On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tamil Nadu to inaugurate the four-day Defence Expo 2018. However, members of many political parties and civilians protested to condemn the Centre's failure in constituting the Cauvery Management Board. Many wore black shirts, carried black flags and held black balloons carrying 'Go Back Modi' slogans.
Following the protests, BJP Unit leader Tamilisai Soundararajan took to her official Facebook page to condemn the protests. She said, "Tamil people should understand that parties, including DMK plans to destabilize Tamil Nadu in the name of Cauvery protests." She also said, "It is the highest stage of IPL protest indecency; due to the IPL ban, TN has not just lost Rs 1500 crore, but also the reputation of TN has been stained."
