Tamil Nadu fishermen attacked by Sri Lankan navy officials

According to reports, five fishermen from Nagapattinam district were injured in an attack by Sri Lankan navy personnel off the Vedaranyam coast, a Fisheries Department official said. The fishermen allegedly sustained injuries in the attack which happened late on Wednesday night. Fisheries Department Assistant Director K Gangadharan reportedly said that a case has been filed with the Coastal Security Group police and fisheries department officials.
