Complete Lockdown in 3 More Districts of Tamil Nadu? - Check here for Details

Three other districts in Tamil Nadu are expected to go under a complete lockdown this week. Following Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet, and Kancheepuram; is Madurai city as the lockdown was announced on June 21, and is to commence from June 22.

Adding to this, the Tamil Nadu government is actively communicating with Vellore, Thiruvanamalai and Ranipet to see if a complete lockdown is necessary for curbing the spread of the coronavirus. As of yesterday, Tiruvanamalai recorded 1,060 cases, Vellore recorded 477 cases and Ranipet recorded 470 cases.

These three districts are likely to agree for a complete lockdown until June 30, says sources. However, it might or might not continue after the 30th of June since the state government will be reviewing the situation once again.

These announcements have come after PM Modi announced that the nation must be ready for Unlock 2.0.
