Actor Rajinikanth, who met the reporters in Chennai on Sunday, told that projects such as the Chennai-Salem expressway lead to the development of the country. However, he stressed that such projects should not be carried out at the cost of farm lands. The actor further added that those affected due to such projects should be compensated with money and land. Rajinikanth also expressed his support for 'One India, One Election' proposal by the BJP-led central government.
Rajinikanth also welcomed the Lokayukta legislation passed by the Tamil Nadu Assembly last week and said the act should become more powerful. When questioned about the state of affairs with respect to education in Tamil Nadu, he said that the state fared better when compared to other states. However, he pointed out that the government needs to do more.
It was his opinion, Rajinikanth said on Amit Shah’s remark that ‘Tamil Nadu is the most corrupt state in the country’. When questioned about the prospects of contesting in the upcoming parliamentary elections in 2019, the actor said that no decision was taken regarding the matter.
