Students lay siege to Tuticorin collectorate demanding closure of Sterlite plant

According to reports, students belonging to the Students Federation of India laid a siege to the district collectorate in Tuticorin demanding the closure of the Sterlite copper plant. Police personnel and students were involved in a ruckus after the students removed the barricades to enter the collectorate. Around 500 students are protesting at the collectorate, say reports.
