According to reports, students belonging to Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle in the University of Madras were arrested by police for protesting against the union government over Cauvery Management Board, Sterlite plant, NEET and various other issues. They attempted to block the Napier bridge before being arrested and was taken to police station.
