Chilling footage of cops poking a dying man, later identified as Kamalakannan has emerged on social media sending shock waves.
The youth had participated in today's stir against Sterlite and paid with his life when police opened fire once again.
So far, about 12 people have died in the anti-Sterlite agitation.
Prominent politicians like DMK working president MK Stalin and Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan met the injured and offered their sympathies.
They also called for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami to resign over the fracas.
