The Times of India reports that the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Chennai (north) has directed airline SpiceJet to pay a sum of Rs1.55 lakh, to three passengers for a flight cancelled at the last moment about three years ago.

While the petitioners claimed that the airline had informed them of the cancellation at the last minute, thereby forcing them to opt for costlier alternative tickets, Spicejet claimed that passengers were intimated of another possible flight or full refund.
