Legendary Singer SP Balasubramaniam Passes Away in Chennai; Film Industry in Shock!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsLegendary singer, S.P. Balasubramaniam, who was hospitalised in August, passed away today afternoon at a private hospital in Chennai leaving the entire nation in shock.
As per The Hindu reports, singer S.P. Balasubramaniam passed away at 1.04 p.m. in Chennai on Friday. Balasubrahmanyam's health worsened yesterday and was in an 'extremely critical' condition.
A press release from Chennai’s MGM hospital yesterday said that SPB, who has been under treatment since August 5, was extremely critical. “His condition in the last 24 hours has deteriorated further warranting maximal life support and he is extremely critical. The team of experts at MGM Healthcare are closely monitoring his health condition," the press release read.
Earlier this week on September 22, his son, SP Charan, who has been giving regular updates about his father’s health, had posted on Instagram that his father was recovering well and was eager to leave the hospital soon. Even on September 7, Charan announced that SPB had tested negative for the deadly coronavirus.
He is survived by his wife Savithri, daughter Pallavi and son SPB Charan. SPB is no more but his voice will live on for his fans and loved ones!
