Due to the frequent rainfall in the Western Ghats, almost all the major falls in Tamil Nadu including Manimuthar, Agasthiyar, Peraruvi, Pazhayaruvi and Aintharuvi, have been witnessing a huge influx of water, prompting officials to impose a ban on bathing at all waterfalls except Agasthiyar.
Rainfall picked up the pace in the last two days in places including Tenkasi, Shengottai, Kadayanalloor, Paavoorchathiram. The other regions adjacent to the Western Ghats have been experiencing frequent drizzles. With this, the Southwest monsoon has gained momentum to lash in Tamil Nadu.
