After meeting the victims of Thoothukudi shooting, actor Rajinikanth met reporters where he said, “Some toxic, anti-social elements were involved in the protest held by the innocent people in Thoothukudi. I request the people to be very careful while holding protests. People who are affected by the protest are deeply hurt”.
He said that people should not keep protesting for everything as it will affect public down the line. He requested the government to look into the Thoothukudi protest more fiercely.
On the 100th day of protest against the Sterlite smelter in Thoothukudi, 13 people were shot dead by Tamil Nadu cops.
