Chennai Man ‘Kidnapped' and Brutally 'Harassed' in Car; Reasons Revealed
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsA software engineer from KK Nagar, Chennai was brutally attacked by three men inside a car. According to TOI, the Software Engineer was also stripped, robbed and clicked nude pictures. The culprits were identified as P Tamilselvan (20), a DMK worker, P Saravanan (23), a food delivery agent and K Manikandan (32), an autorickshaw driver.
The incident happened around 5 PM on August 30 (Friday) when V Srikumar, a resident of KK Nagar booked a two-wheeler taxi to go to Forum Mall in Vadapalani. The booking reached Saravanan who had registered his two-wheeler with the bike-taxi application. However, Saravanan called Srikumar and informed him that he would come in a car as it was raining which Srikumar agreed.
Later, when Srikumar boarded the car, there were already two others inside. When Srikumar inquired about them, Saravanan had told him that they were co-passengers. Once the trip started, Saravanan took on Anna Main Road towards Ashok Pillar which apparently confused Srikumar and he strongly objected for it. After a while, the two passengers attacked Srikumar and snatched Rs. 11,000 at knifepoint.
On the go, they also stripped him nude and captured photos. At around 7 PM, the perpetrators dropped Srikumar at his residence, further demanding Rs 50,000. They had also threated to release the nude pictures online if he fails to give the money.
A startled Srikumar took the incident to Guindy Police Station and lodged a complaint. The Guindy police officers forwarded the complaint to KK Nagar Police station. The police then traced the CCTV footage and arrested the three culprits who all belonged to Virugambakkam. The arrested men were later sent to prison by the court.
