News Reader Shobana Ravi Comments on Rajini's Periyar Speech
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsActor Rajinikanth's speech at Thuglak function has turned out to be controversial and created a lot of debates in the mainstream circle.
Rajini quoted a 1971 incident saying Periyar degraded Hindu Gods Ram and Sita in a rally conducted in Salem.
On January 21 (Tuesday), Rajinikanth met the press in front of his poes garden residence and flashed an 'Outlook' article published in 2017 which describes the same incident Rajini quoted in his speech.
Meanwhile, yesteryear popular newsreader Shobana Ravi has lent her support to Rajinikanth. "Keep it up Rajini! You don't have to be sorry about what you said. Yes, Lord Ram and Sita were insulted and it still hurts me that they dared to garland Him with slippers! I remember the pictures that came out in Tughlak. Even at that young age I was appalled! I didn't have to be a sanghi to feel so. If we don't speak for Lord Ram who else is worthy of speaking for? Don't budge!," Shobana wrote on her Facebook wall.
