Security tightened in Marina

According to reports, police personnel have been deployed in large numbers and security has been beefed up in Marina beach following an announcement of protest by Tamizhar Vazhvurimai Kootamaippu, an umbrella body of pro-Tamil outfits. While the body has been permitted to hold the protest near the State Guest House in Chepauk, police fear that the protest may spread to Marina beach, hence strengthened security. The body conducts the protest against the Centre over the formation of Cauvery Management Board.
