Police personnel have been deployed in large numbers and security has been strengthened at actor Rajinikanth’s residence in Poes Garden after reports of possible protests. The actor’s remarks on protests in Tamil Nadu garnered mixed responses from the political circle in Tamil Nadu.
Rajinikanth spoke to reporters on Wednesday after his visit to Thoothukudi to meet the injured in the police firing at the anti-Sterlite protesters. While addressing the reporters, he claimed that ‘anti-social elements’ infiltrated the protests in Thoothukudi and they were behind the violence in the harbour town.
When questioned how he knew that ‘anti-social elements’ infiltrated the protest, Rajinikanth lost his cool and said, “Don’t ask me how I know it. I know it all.” He also furiously said that Tamil Nadu will turn into a graveyard if people resort to protests for everything.
