The Madurai bench of Madras High Court has reportedly ordered that the school administration should take responsibility for the safety of students inside the school premises. While hearing a petition filed by Rangees Meera from Kanyakumari, whose son permanently lost sight in his right eye after a fellow student pelted a stone, the court also ordered that the school’s headmaster and correspondent together should pay a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the student within four weeks.
