According to reports, the Supreme Court has agreed to take up Tamil Nadu's petition for contempt against the Centre. The Centre was ordered by the Supreme Court to constitute the Cauvery Management Board by March 30. However, the Centre took no such action so far.
The Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra agreed to hear the contempt plea on Monday against Union water resources secretary U.P. Singh and Cabinet Secretary P.K. Sinha. Misra reportedly said, " We understand the problems of Tamil Nadu. We will solve the issue."
