The Supreme Court on Monday brushed aside the Madras High Court order on closing down of 1,700 liquor shops in Tamil Nadu.
Earlier, the HC had passed the order noting that the process followed in permitting such shops were not in accordance with the SC order.
The TN government had contested the same in the apex court, citing loss in revenue and has won the ruling in its favour.
