The Chennai railway police confiscated four bags of Gutkha on Tuesday. Reportedly, the bags were dropped off by unidentified men from the Delhi-Chennai Thirukkural Express. The police found Gutkha worth Rs 6 lakh after examining the abandoned bags.
Louis Amuthan, senior divisional security commissioner of the Railway Protection Force reportedly announced that Egmore railway station will be fitted with scanning devices to curb smuggling of drugs.
