Rowdy murdered in Puzhal prison

According to reports, a prisoner named ‘Boxer’ Murali was bludgeoned to death by five fellow prisoners in the Puzhal central prison on Tuesday night. Reports suggest that Murali, an aide of gangster Kakkathoppu Balaji, was murdered due to prior enmity. He was rushed to Stanley hospital in Chennai where he succumbed to injuries.

Murali from Vyasarpadi was jailed under Goondas Act and has about 15 cases pending against him in various police stations. Reportedly, members of a rival group were also lodged in the same prison.

Following a clash between the two gangs on Tuesday night, the opposite brutally attacked Murali and slit his throat. They also reportedly cut his genitals. Police said investigations are on.
