The rift between Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran and VK Sasikala’s brother V Dhivakaran was apparent as they exchanged blows on Tuesday. Speaking at an agitation in Thanjavur demanding the formation of Cauvery Management Board, TTV Dhinakaran said his party won’t forgive anyone who act against its interests. He warned that those who are involved in unnecessary conspiracy will be thrown out of the party the way former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa would do. Dhivakaran on Tuesday visited a temple in Mannargudi and later told reporters that he can’t accept the AMMK party as “it does not have Dravidam and (Arignar) Anna.” He further clarified that he won’t work together with AMMK for the upcoming elections adding that his “Amma faction will contest the elections alone if need be.” Dhivakaran also accused Dhinakaran of forming the party with his family members without consulting the district-level and other party functionaries.
