Actor-politician Rajinikanth met with the press outside his house on April 23 before leaving for the US. When asked about his opinion on the S Ve Shekher issue, he said, "Whether he did it knowingly or unknowingly, what S Ve Shekher did is an unforgivable crime. There is no second comment on that." However, he did not want to comment about Kanimozhi.
S Ve Shekher had shared a derogatory post about female journalists on Facebook last week and claimed that he did it without knowing the actual content.
