Rajinikanth Reacts to Receiving Notice for Thoothukudi Police Firing
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsSuperstar Rajinikanth met press persons outside his Poes Garden residence today and spoke about a lot of issues including him receiving a notice from the commission probing the violence in the Tuticorin Massacre. He said that so far, personally he hasn’t received any such notice.
He spoke about the National Registry of Citizens (NRC) and said that it was an important thing to do. “It has been done in 2010, and 2015 by the Congress and it’s essential to do it in 2021 also. We need to know who’s Indian and who are the foreigners living in India,” he said.
He also spoke of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and said it’s not a disadvantage to Muslims of the country. “Unnecessary panic has been created about CAA. If anything happens to the Muslims of the country, I am there to raise my voice for them.” He further added that some political parties are trying to create panic for their own benefit.
He spoke about students protesting against these issues and said that they need to do that after consulting their professors only. “We don’t know how the police will be. Political parties would try to take advantage of the situation. If a FIR is filed against you, your entire life comes to a standstill.”
When quizzed about him being in the money-lending business, all he said was, “I am an honest working person. I have paid my taxes correctly.”
