Rains in TN! Schools shut in these districts

After a long dry streak, rains have finally arrived in Tamil Nadu. Due to the heavy rains, schools in Tiruvarur, Pudukottai, Nagai, Cuddalore and Salem were closed for the day.

Since yesterday night, many districts in TN experienced heavy rains. A few districts had rains continue today as well. Districts including Tiruvarur, Koradacheri, Mangudi, Kangalancheri, Koothanallur and Vadakandam experienced intense spells of rain.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a chance of heavy rains in TN, Puducherry and Kerala till October 8. As far as Chennai is concerned, the city has been facing moderate rains and a few parts experienced heavy rains. The Chennai Met Dept has predicted light to moderate rains in the city for the next three days.
