According to reports, the Madras High Court on Tuesday put forward rapid questions to the Tamil Nadu government for rejecting Ayyakannu’s plea to stage fasting in Marina beach.

Ayyakkannu, the founder and state president of Desiya Thenninthiya Nathigal Inaippu Vivasayigal Sangam applied a plea to protest in Marina beach against state and central governments demanding the formation of Cauvery Management Board.

The Court questioned the government of TN if they will stop a festival in temple just because lakhs of people are gathering. The Court said that the government has no rights to stop a protest, whereas it's the duty of the government to make sure that the protestes are happening without any ruckus.
