Actor Rajinikanth has visited Thoothukudi to meet the injured in police firing and their families in the government hospital there. Reports suggest that the actor will console the families of the victims, who were injured in the police firing which killed at least 13 persons.

Ahead of his flight to Thoothukudi, Rajinikanth told the reporters that the people as well as he would be happy on visiting the Thoothukudi government hospital. “I believe they’ll be happy when a  cinema artist visits them,” Rajinikanth said. It is a “goodwill gesture”, he added.

When questioned about Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s allegation that DMK was behind the violence in Thoothukudi, Rajinikanth said that it’s “politics”. The DMK and AIADMK exchanging allegations against each other is politics, Rajinikanth said.
