Competition in the name of OTS cabs has arrived for the two app-based taxi giants, Ola and Uber in Chennai. Reportedly, the app of OTS Cabs, a local operator will be launched on Android and iOS on Tuesday.
OTS short for Ottunar Thozhargal Sangam, is an association of drivers. Reportedly, OTS will follow the standard USP of taxi services and not the price surge strategy of OLA and Uber. Services will be available in four different types of vehicles - auto, mini, sedan and SUV.
The mini will be priced at Rs 80 for four km and Rs 14 for every additional kilometre. Waiting charges will cost Rs 1 for every minute. It was announced that an initial 1,800 cars will be operated under OTS.
