Following false reports that one person in Trichy had died of Nipah virus, TN Health Secretary Dr Radhakrishnan put rumours to rest and confirmed that there has been no outbreak of the disease in the city.
It all started when a few regional news channels started flashing news about the outbreak. Dr Radhakrishnan was quick to dismiss them as hoax.
