Fresh twist in Nirmala Devi case

In the case of assistant professor Nirmala Devi, her lawyer withdrew from advocating for the professor. Her advocate J Balasubramaniam was reportedly not present at the court on Friday when Nirmala Devi was produced before the Sattur JM II court.

Nirmala Devi was arrested after a controversial audio clip went viral, in which she allegedly lured few girl students to offer sex work to higher officials. The case was later transferred to the CB-CID. According to a TNIE report, the advocate said that he withdrew from the case on his own and that he was not threatened by anyone.
