Recently, the Ministry of Human Resource Development sent a list of nominations for the Presidential Award of Certificates of Honour to honour scholars of many Indian languages. However, Tamil was not listed among them. DMK working president, MK Stalin responded strongly against the BJP for ignoring the oldest language, Tamil.
He took to his official Twitter page and wrote, "I strongly condemn that the 2018 Presidential Award and Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman award ceremony ignored the oldest language, Tamil. Tamilians will not forgive the BJP government's betrayal."
