'I Would Repeat The Slogan': MK Stalin Backs Student Who Shouted Anti-BJP Slogan

A day after a student was arrested for shouting anti-BJP slogans at Tamil Nadu BJP chief Tamilisai Soundararajan, DMK President and Leader of Opposition, MK Stalin has come out in support of the student.

28-year-old Lois Sofia was arrested at the Tuticorin airport after she shouted "down with Modi-BJP-RSS fascist government" on a flight, in the presence of Soundararajan. Sofia was arrested after the plane landed and Soundararajan has also filed a complaint with the airport police.

DMK chief MK Stalin has slammed the Tamil Nadu government for arresting Sofia. Tweeting about the incident, Stalin has said that the arrest in "anti-democratic" and is "against the right to free speech".

"The anti-democratic actions of the Tamil Nadu government that is against the right to free speech are highly condemnable. She must be released immediately. If you'd put behind bars all those who raise such slogans, how many lakh people would you jail?" asked Stalin

Demanding the student's release, Stalin also went on to add that he too would repeat her (Sofia's) slogan.
