On behalf of the Chancellor Mr. A.N. Radhakrishnan, Rector Mrs. Jayanthi Radhakrishnan presided over. Executive Trustee Mrs. Gomathi Radhakrishnan, Vice Chancellor Dr. R.S. Neelakandan and Associate Vice Chancellor Mr. S.P. Sivapathasundaram were also present for the event.
Leading General and Vascular Therapist Dr. C.M.K Reddy was the special guest of honour at the Graduation Ceremony. In his speech, Dr. Reddy emphasised that real education is to teach love to the students instead of competitive attitude.
"Every student is unique; if a student realises and teaches it to others then it will create a positive revolution in the society inculcating a culture of innovation," he added.
Further in his speech, he batted for the service rendered by the students using proper modern medical techniques during the epidemic is commendable. It is time to realize that the medical field is a sacred service rather than commercialisation. He also called on medical students to involve such qualities such as compassion, social awareness and positive thinking.
Meanwhile, University Rector Mrs. Jayanthi Radhakrishnan in her address stated that, Meenakshi Academy of Research and Education has its own colleges of General Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Engineering and others. It was started with an aim to provide higher education to poor and middle class students and it is still being continued. She also stressed that they would prioritize the curriculum for creating professional jobs.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Neelakandan listed the achievements of MAHER during the 2019-2020 academic year. The service rendered to the public during Corona pandemic by the University Administration, Teachers and students was highlighted.
At the graduation ceremony, there were 35 graduates, who received degrees and 63 students graduated with medals and followed by the awarding of Bachelor's and Master's degrees to 975 students through virtual mode.
