According to reports, Mohammed Rafiq, who was arrested on April 23 based on an audio clip which went viral, reportedly suffered a heart attack on Monday morning. In the audio clip which was his conversation with a truck driver, Rafiq allegedly planned to murder the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The 53-year-old was admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital’s intensive care unit. Officials reportedly said his condition was being monitored. He had recently undergone an open heart surgery. Notably, he was one of the convicts in the 1998 Coimbatore bomb blast case.
